Privacy Policy

The Returning Citizens Assistance Network ("RCAN," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through rcandc.org, how we use it, who we share it with, and how it's protected.
Information we collect
We collect information in a few ways:
- Contact form. When you submit our contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, the topic and message you provide, and, if applicable, your congregation. This is sent to us through our form provider, Formspree.
- Donations. When you donate, our donation processor, Donorbox, collects your name, email address, billing information, and payment details in order to process the transaction. We receive your name, email, and donation amount, but we do not receive or store your full card number.
- Bot protection. Our contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to help prevent spam. Turnstile may process your IP address and device signals to verify you're human.
How we use your information
- To respond to messages and requests submitted through our contact form
- To process and acknowledge donations, and to send donation receipts
- To protect our site and forms from spam and abuse
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share information with
We share information with the service providers who help us run this site, each of whom processes it under their own privacy policy:
- Donorbox and its payment processors, to process donations
- Formspree, to deliver contact form submissions to us
- Vercel, which hosts this site
- Cloudflare, for spam and bot protection on our contact form
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of RCAN or others.
Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we receive, including using encrypted connections (HTTPS) throughout the site and relying on reputable, security-conscious service providers for payment processing, form delivery, and hosting. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Data retention
We keep contact form submissions and donation records for as long as reasonably needed to respond to you, maintain accurate donor and financial records, and meet legal or accounting obligations.
Your choices
You can ask us to correct or delete personal information you've submitted to us, or ask what information we hold about you, by contacting us using the details below. We'll respond as quickly as we're able.
Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
